Have waited over 1.5yrs and finally got my 24plate Octavia iv last week (Apr 2024). Initial feeling is the car lacks any real excitement, boot is great, general build quality is good, so far economy for Hybrid is fine... my biggest gripe is the lack of direct switches makes the vehicle operation really complicated, changing climate controls, using sat nave the HMI is just not as intuitive and stress free as it used to be.. additionally, the ride is very soft, and body roll very noticeable, perhaps wheelbase and aero from cross winds have a impact but compared to a 66 plate Passat it's nowhere near as refined. having had several brands and company cars in the past the cost gave me little option...

so much chrome built in, it's insane. it blinds in so many ways (and sunglasses are not part of the Skoda accessories). The suspension while comfortable on long drives, in anything with a turn it leans like an old coil spring couch. In winter, the lack of radar sensor heating is unforgivable: basically all electronic assists turn off because the sensor is impaired by snow or ice (unless you stop and clean it, and then due to snowfall it gets blocked in 5-10-15 minutes). Even a simple headlight cleaning spray would improve the ice/snow resistance of the radar sensor...

Very good build quality. Handling, roadholding, ride and performance are excellent. Versatility is a strong attribute with a really spacious boot capacity and plenty of cabin room. Reliable and inexpensive to run, its fuel economy is very good. An excellent all rounder.

Great space. Have fitted 7ft wardrobes with all the seats down. Easy to park with parking sensors. Automatic is great for the start stop of the city. A bit short for a child seat in the back. Front chair has to be moved forward cutting out leg room for the dvr.

Excellent allrounder. I have the 1.8 DSG hatch 160bhp so is fast enough and with allmost unbeatable legroom and a class leading boot space. In town a smaller car would be better for parking etc. This car for me ticks most of the boxes, bought new in 2012 and still have it after 9 years.
